It may not sound like that, but the rear diff bushings of your Mazda MX-5 Miata are quite soft (and even softer after all those years). By replacing them with polyurethane ones you can improve the shifting feel and reduce rear axle hop. Stiffer polyurethane diff bushings also improve throttle response and torque delivery because the diff moves less.
Polyurethane bushings last over twice as long, are less prone to tears or damage by oil, salts, acids, solvents and grime and they withstand higher temperatures. They have higher load-bearing capacity thus causing less play in connection points while maintaining needed flexibility. Compared to OEM bushings they are also easier to assemble (no press needed).
We offer a choice of two bushing hardness ratings. The red Performance Street bushings (80 ShA) are similar in hardness to OEM style rubber bushings but are much more durable. This is a good compromise, if you want to keep most of the comfort while improving the shifting feel and throttle response of your MX-5. The yellow Race Track bushings (90 ShA) are harder than the Performance Street version and offer even more precision which makes them ideal for track focused cars.
