The rain rail is the plastic channel fitted between at base of the soft top hood (below the rear window and the rear deck). It does an essential job of channelling the rainwater that runs off the hood down to the drainage holes in the body.
Rain rail often gets damaged when replacing the soft top, as in order to replace it the rain rail must be removed from the car. Over time the plastic becomes brittle leading to cracks and breaks, which can cause leaks into the interior of the car.
