MX-5 Miata NC 2.0 Wiseco Forged Pistons

While the stock bottom end can handle some power, a bit of extra reliability is always a good call. Wiseco pistons for Mk3 Mazda Miata are engineered from high-grade forged aluminum to deliver the strength and durability needed for high-performance setups, including turbocharging and other forced induction applications. These pistons provide improved thermal management and reduced friction thanks to a teflon coated piston skirt, ensuring a resilient, smooth-running engine that’s built to handle whatever you throw at it.

Wiseco’s innovative Armor plating is applied to these NC Miata pistons. This high-performance coating is applied to the piston crown, ring grooves, and piston pin bore. The coating on the dome helps protect the piston from the damage caused by detonation, and will actually harden over time from the heat caused by combustion. This coating is also applied to the ring groove, and helps eliminate micro-welding of the ring, and improve wear of the ring groove along with improving ring seal. The coating in the piston pin bore improves wear, reduces friction, and eliminates material deformation of the lock ring groove.
